Drug Store Self Tanners

I have a real problem with drug store self-tanners. Most people end up with terrible results using sunless tanning product mainly because they have either purchased the wrong shade for their skin tone or because they purchased a poorly developed product, or both. I have had horrible results with almost every single sunless tanning product I have tried made by a popular skincare or cosmetics company available at drug stores, and I have tried most of them. I won't name them.... you know exactly the brands I mean. They should probably just stick to hair dye, make-up, and wrinkle cream.

Now, I am not saying that some folks haven't had success with these products, everyone's skin is different, but most haven't. They just continue to sell because they are so quickly obtainable and priced affordable so people continue to try them or settle for the mediocre results. The one exception to this is SOME of daily moisturizers that are gradual self-tanner. They only contain small amounts of the "tanning concoction" so many of them do the trick if your just looking for a bit of a sunny glow that builds slowly.

I have found that the best self-tanners are made by companies specializing in the sun care field or the tanning industry, which only makes sense. These companies have spent countless years researching, testing, and improving these specific products alone, unlike those other companies that are making hair care, skin care, cosmetics, and many other product lines. I have found it well worth the time waiting on the mail man to order good quality products that do the job right. My absolute favorite is TanTowel. They have the most natural looking color, for me anyway, and can be found online for a reasonable price. There are several other products that I have used, and still use occasionally that give great tanning results, although I personally tend to prefer the towels to a lotion. You will find them all in my blog store.
