Make Sure Your Great Day In The Sun Doesn't Turn Into A Miserable Night

It's summer so of course your going to be outside and exposed to the sun. Here are some tips to make sure your glow is golden and not red!

1.  Don't be fooled by a cloudy day! My daughter got the worst sunburn of her life on a stormy, cloudy, rainy day. There was even thunder and lightning! She wasn't even red...she was purple it was so bad. So, always remember that if it's cloudy or  you spend the day under a tree in the shade...that's not enough.

2. Apply at least a 35 SPF sunblock about 15 before you go out. This gives time for  the lotion to dry and absorb into your skin. If you are going to be getting wet or expect to sweat, make sure you use a water proof sunblock. Re-apply every couple of hour on most common burning points like chest, shoulders, back of neck, & nose. You will still get some color even with sunblock, and by color I mean tan, not fireball red.

It's Tan Time! I Just Found This Great Deal On Fake Bake Kits!

Although it has been no secret that I am a die hard fan of TanTowel... I have decided to really give some of the other sunless tanning products out there a fair shot. I have tried many of them and always turn back to the same combination of TanTowels and Jergens Natural Glow. I suppose mostly because it is the most affordable and convenient way to keep a nice, even tan that looks real. However, today I have decided to treat myself a bit and splurge a little since I am now 40 and need some serious pampering. I went hunting on Amazon and found a great deal on Fake Bake. It has been a while since I have tried Fake Bake, but I have been hearing a lot of buzz about it lately. Apparently Fake Bake Products have quite an impressive celebrity clientele. I have decided it's time to try something new and I am going to start with this Fake Bake Kit:

My Self-Tanning Experience - What Products I Am Using

I am ready to begin building my tan for the upcoming season. I was struck down suddenly with an illness and it has been a long recovery so I am starting fresh with no tan at all. I have photographed the products that I am using. If you have read my blog or any of my articles then you already know that Jergens Natural Glow and Tantowel are my favorite products. I will be using Jergens Natural Glow for medium to tan skin tones, Jergens Natural Glow Face for medium to tan skin tones, TanTowel Deeper Darker Towelettes, and I have added a new product to the mix, Jergens Natural Glow Express.

Idol Tan: The Next Level Of Self-Tanners

If you are looking for a very advanced self-tanner and are willing to pay more for the best tan, then Idol Tan is definitely the way to go. I have only had the pleasure of using one tube of Idol Tan because quite honestly it's just not in my budget to be able to use it regularly. The tanning results of this product are fantastic! I must say that when I first received it I was a bit skeptical. I will also tell you honestly that it doesn't smell so great and it's in gel form so it's a little messy, but it does dry quickly and if you take time and care applying this self tanner the results are the best I have ever experienced. The color was perfect, a very nice deep shade of suntan. If it's in your budget to spoil yourself a bit, Idol Tan is worth every penny. There is a free bottle on some packages right now, buy 2 get 1 free or buy 3 get 3 free. To get yours or learn more visit Idol Tan.

Blog Post: Get The Perfect Tan With TanTowel

If you have read my blog or any of my articles, then you know that TanTowel is my favorite self-tanner. I rave about it because it has everything I need, and expect from a good quality product. TanTowel is a sunless tanner in the form of a towelette, similar to a wet wipe. They do not contain any sulfur or synthetic dyes like some other self-tanning products. The color you develop with TanTowel is a beautiful, natural looking suntan color. When applied properly, you can achieve the perfect tan. These handy towelettes come conveniently individually packaged for easy travel and are readily available online. The best place to get great prices on TanTowel is on Amazon. They are available there in quantities ranging from 1 single towelette to 50 towelettes. I have linked to the best deals on a variety of TanTowel products on Amazon through my Get A Perfect Tan Blog Store. Don't forget to start out with the shade that is right for your skin tone. This is the second huge mistake most people make when chosing a sunless tanner, the first being choosing a mediocre product.

Did You Buy A Bad Self-Tanning Lotion? Don't Waste It! Do This..

So you bought yourself a sunless tanner and the results were horrible. Now what? You have wasted money on a mediocre product. It seems like such a shame to throw it away, so it will go in a drawer somewhere and be forgotten about. Well, fortunately, there is a use for it. Even though the self-tanner you purchased has poor results straight out of the bottle, you can use it to make your own daily moisturizer with a gradual self-tanner. When you mix a small amount with a regular lotion, you will find that the your slow subtle glow is much more natural looking than it was with just the sunless tanner. I mix mine 1 part bad tanning product to 3 parts my favorite body lotion. Mix it well and store in an airtight plastic container. Apply the product daily as you do your usual moisturizer and you will begin to notice a warm sunny glow beginning to develop in a few days to a week.

Drug Store Self Tanners

I have a real problem with drug store self-tanners. Most people end up with terrible results using sunless tanning product mainly because they have either purchased the wrong shade for their skin tone or because they purchased a poorly developed product, or both. I have had horrible results with almost every single sunless tanning product I have tried made by a popular skincare or cosmetics company available at drug stores, and I have tried most of them. I won't name them.... you know exactly the brands I mean. They should probably just stick to hair dye, make-up, and wrinkle cream.

Time To Get A Good Sunscreen And Protect Your Skin

The weather is absolutely beautiful here on the Gulf Coast of Texas and Beach season is already moving into full swing. I love the beach and the hot sunny days, but I also love my skin. I have spent too many years damaging my skin baking in the hot sun to achieve a dark tan. Then when I reached my mid thirties, my skin began to tell the tale of all the abuse it had taken. I began developing terrible age spots on my face that became more visible every time I spend the day in the sun. Now I try to take good care of my skin and protect it as much as possible from the sun's harmful rays. Choosing the right sunblock is very important to ensure the best protection possible. Aloe Vera Extract Heals Skin

Aloe vera has been shown in clinical studies to have a positive effect on wound healing and holds anti-inflammatory properties. As stretch marks start out as microscopic tears in skin layers due to overstretching of the dermis, aloe vera helps heal these small wounds without causing scar tissue to form, effectively preventing the appearance of stretch marks. Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Indians and Chinese to decrease the appearance of scars and to moisturize and heal skin. This extract from the aloe leaf protects skin from environmental factors and promotes skin regeneration. For more information visit: www.revitol.com

Caffeine Extract removes Cellulite

Caffeine works as a stimulant as well as a vasodilator; it stimulates the breakdown of fat cells and also widens the blood vessels in the area. As such Caffeine stimulates the circulation and blood flow, which helps remove toxins, fat and excess fluids. When blood is allowed to move into the region the natural metabolic pathways of the body are stimulated and you will also burn more fat naturally. Caffeine also inhibits phosphodiesterase.
These are enzymes which are responsible for the break down of cyclic AMP, which in turn deprives the body of energy. By preventing the phospodiesterases from breaking down the cyclic AMP the energy is used efficiently. Topical use of caffeine is preferred over oral use, as its effects will be localized and concentrated. Through oral use the caffeine will never reach the target area in a concentrated form.
